How to Schedule and Ultrasound Session

The main region area that I cover is Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and the Southeastern part of the United States. However, I will travel to any location in the country. I do try to set my scanning schedule several weeks in advance so keep that in mind if you are having a sale or trying to finish before the breeding season. We will accommodate the breeder and do our absolute best to work around your schedule, but please try to plan ahead and give me a few weeks notice.

Refer to the "All Breed Age Chart" for the window of ages of your breed and sex of cattle that you need scanned, and make sure you are in the correct age range to be scanned. Animals must be scanned in the determined age bracket by the Ultrasound Guidelines Council.

Other tasks that must be completed or accommodated for a successful scan session are as follows:

  • Cattle must me weighed within 7 days of scan session

  • Barn Sheets must be completed by scan day.

  • Need a squeeze chute in good working order.

  • Need a cover over the facility---permanent or temporary.

  • Grounded and safe 110 volt electricity or a gas generator.

  • Breeder is responsible for having additional help to get cattle in and out of chute

  • And for any additional paperwork.
  • Any shots or other items that need to be done to the cattle needs to be done after the cattle have been scanned. We need the cattle to be as calm as possible for quality image collection.
